This notice covers alternate-reality.co.uk: the Apply form, our free toolkit and lead magnet forms, and the Slate waitlist. Slate itself has its own Privacy Policy.

Who we are

What we collect

• Apply form: your name, email, phone number, company, role and Instagram handle, and your answers about your business, audience, budget, timeline and past agencies.
• Booking a call: if you book a call after applying, Calendly takes your name, email address and the time you pick.
• Free toolkit and lead magnets: your name, email address and the resource you asked for.
• Slate waitlist: your name, email address and your answers.
• Emails and calls: what you send us.
• Visiting the site: our host, Netlify, logs IP addresses to keep the site secure and working. We don't use analytics or tracking cookies. Videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive and Instagram load only when you press play. YouTube uses its privacy-enhanced player and Vimeo its do-not-track mode. Once a video plays, that service may store data on your device. The booking calendar from Calendly loads only if you book a call. Our Cookie Policy has the details.

Why, and our lawful basis

• Replying to your application or enquiry, and talking about working together: steps you've asked us to take before a possible contract, and our legitimate interests in replying.
• Sending the resource you asked for: our legitimate interests in giving you what you requested.
• Emailing you about our services: only if you've said yes, or you've applied or asked us for a quote and didn't opt out. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

• Netlify (website hosting and forms).
• Notion (where we keep enquiries and the waitlist).
• Google Workspace (our email).
• Calendly (booking calls).

They work under contracts with us. Some are in the US, and we protect those transfers as our Slate Privacy Policy explains. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

24 months after we last hear from you, unless you become a client. If you ask us to stop sooner, we delete your details, except a note that you asked us not to contact you.

Your rights

You don't have to fill in our forms. If you don't, we can't reply to you or send you the resource. You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, stop using it, or send it to you in a standard format. Email privacy@alternate-reality.co.uk. It's free, and we reply within one month.

If you're unhappy, you can tell us first. We'll confirm we've received your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commission (ICO).
