Slate

Delete your Slate data

This page explains how to delete the data Slate holds about you. That includes anything we received from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or LinkedIn.

Delete everything

  1. Open Slate and go to Account.
  2. Under Your data, tap Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE and confirm.

We cancel any plan, disconnect your social accounts, and delete your account and content from Slate straight away. Our Google Drive copy goes to the bin, which empties after 30 days. Within 30 days we delete the copies on our editing computer and at our providers, including your AI clone and Ad Twin. Payment records stay in Stripe and our accounts for 6 years after the end of the financial year, as UK tax law requires.

Remove one network

In Slate, go to Account > Your socials and tap Disconnect next to the network. We delete that connection, its access tokens and the links to your posts in Slate straight away. Posts already published stay on the network until you delete them there.

Remove Slate from Facebook or Instagram

  1. On Facebook: Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites. On Instagram: Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites.
  2. Find Slate and remove it. If Facebook asks, tap Send request to ask us to delete your data too.
  3. Meta tells us, and we delete that connection and its tokens automatically.

When you ask for deletion through Facebook or Instagram, Meta gives you a confirmation code. You can check its status at app.alternate-reality.co.uk/social-deletion.

Remove Slate from YouTube, TikTok or LinkedIn

  • YouTube: go to Google's security settings, find Slate and remove access. We delete your YouTube data within 7 days of noticing.
  • TikTok: in the TikTok app, go to Profile, open the menu, then Settings and privacy > Security & permissions > Apps and services permissions. Pick Slate and tap Remove access.
  • LinkedIn: Me > Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Other applications > Permitted services, then Remove next to Slate.

Removing access on a network stops Slate posting there. To delete the data we already hold, also disconnect in Slate or delete your account.
